Washington’s Public Disclosure Commission provides searchable records for candidates, committees, contributions, and independent spending.
Look beyond a campaign’s total. Review its largest donors, the industries or organizations represented, spending close to Election Day, and outside groups that support or oppose a candidate without coordinating with the campaign.
A contribution is evidence of financial support, not proof of an improper agreement. Responsible reporting distinguishes the documented transaction from any conclusion about influence.
